Poem for Beloved

you’re mine, she says and presses her face into mine
never letting go of the embrace, never letting go
of the scar that made her live around the dark waters.

she claimed me, you say while writing about us
as if we were a story to pass on. NO!
it’s not a story to recite every night to your children
it embodies pain, the pain of killing my own daughter.

she never let me redeem for my animalistic actions
she was too angry to forgive me all this time, though
too hungry to be away from me as well.

my love was never thin, it was thick enough
to save her and take her life with my own hands.
you petty humans will never understand my love
because you all love halfly, just like my daughter.
